The Lincolnshire Centre would be very pleased to
welcome you to any of the rallies listed in this rally book. Our
rallies are simply a gathering of Caravan Club
Members for a weekend holiday to promote friendship and enjoy our
common interest CARAVANNING.
The programme is arranged by the Centre Officers and
Committee and the rallies run by members (as Marshals)
all of whom are volunteers.
They give up their time for the enjoyment of
others and it is their way of ‘Putting a bit back’ for the good times they
have enjoyed.
Hopefully the programme is designed to suit all
tastes, with adult and children’s sports, walking, socials, caravan
manoeuvring, fishing, indoor games, volley
ball, dances, wine tasting (except we don’t spit it out) bowls, specialised
rallies such as the bonfire, dinner dance and
teenage rallies as well as combining with many local village events,
i.e. agricultural shows, national events, and
flower festivals plus raising money for charities and hospices, in many
cases we become part of the local community if
only for the weekend.
The Rally Marshals are ordinary Centre members who
have volunteered their time to organise and run the rally,
which includes signing the approach to the
field and arranging the programme for our entertainment. This may
include a social evening or dance, competitions
or sports activities, all of which you may join in, or of course, you
may do your own thing.
How do I book onto one of these rallies you may ask?
Quite simple. Please complete one of the enclosed rally
booking slips and post it to the Rally Marshal
with the £2 booking fee, not later than the first post of the Monday
preceding the rally or two weeks prior to the
rally for Bank Holiday rallies. You will find their name and address are
the end of each of the rally details.
When you go to the rally, follow the directions
included in the rally book, when you are near the site you will see our
directions signs which are reflective ORANGE with LINCS CC in black lettering. As
you enter the site you will see
the Rally Marshal’s caravan which will have a
Rally Marshal sign beside it.
Please stop by their caravan and introduce yourselves.
They will then ask you for the required fee which will be
listed on the envelope that they will give you.
It will also contain a letter giving information on the programme of the
rally, any competitions and a rally plaque
showing that you attended the rally.
You will then be shown to your pitch for the weekend
by the Rally Marshal. Please draw the offside front corner
of the caravan to the marker peg. Then it is
normal practice to park your car on the offside of your caravan, which
allows everyone to have easy access to all
caravans. You will also be advised the location of the drinking water tap
and the Elsan Disposal Point both of which will
be signed. Please do not use the drinking water for the cleaning or
charging of your toilet. Waste water can be
disposed of around the hedgerows unless told otherwise. Dry rubbish
should be taken home unless advised by the
Rally Marshal.
During the weekend the Chairman or one of the Officers
or Committee will call on you to welcome you to our Centre
and to your first rally. He or she will tell
you about the flag meeting which normally takes place towards the end of
the rally and it is when we have coffee
together, introduce our first ralliers and visitors thank our Rally
Marshals,
give our details of future events and results of any
competitions and draws. Please come and join us, I am sure it
will be the first of many enjoyable rallies.
