What an excellent rally from the moment of arrival to departure, which was
all thanks to the senior committee, who arranged it all and was at hand
throughout.
The
programme of events started on Friday night (with a return to childhood),
the kids and adults set about colouring and glittering Sandra’s Christmas
banner. This was followed by several games of Christmas Bingo, which follows
the concept of normal bingo but 100% funnier. There was no question of
anyone cheating, but the colouring of Colin’s bingo score sheet was dubious
as he did everything in “black and white”.
Saturday daytime was spent resting for the evening’s extravagance. The
evening kicked off with a superb three course Christmas dinner with all the
trimmings. A big thanks to the chefs who laboured most of Saturday to
produce the fine feast. Then with a full stomach we moved onto the evening’s
entertainment, which included kiddies’ entertainment from Ivan, John and
Jeff (I’m sure elves wore tights!) Once the kids had been built up to a
frenzy, father Christmas made a guest appearance and dutifully handed out
presents to the children. My illusion of Santa was spoilt when Santa
disclosed that his sack was not big enough. There go my dreams of asking
Santa for a Ferrari. After Santa had gone the party games and dancing began
and the rest of the evening passed with a blur.
Saturday night was wild, with caravans and motor homes a rocking and
unfortunately for my husband it was down to the windy conditions.
Sunday dawned bright and clear and all to soon it was time for flag, where
the prizes or the competitions were awarded. After winning a smallholding in
BRUSSELL SPROUTS, the Met office issued a weather warning for the Lincoln
area - WINDY.
The
weekend put you in a Christmas spirit, many thanks to all. See you around
the rally field in 07.
